SAUNF (fennel)

Roasted and sometimes tossed with mishri, saunf is often served after a meal. It is also recommended for nursing mothers and brings relief to those with stomach ailments-flatulence and gastro-intestinal cramps. As an expectorant, saunf brings out phlegm to relieve chest congestion, which is why most kaarha recipes include it. Saunf’s diuretic qualifies help the kidneys, liver, gall bladder and spleen function better. its antipyretic and antimicrobial properties are well recorded too. Since it minimizes swelling, it is recommended for patients who have contracted jaundice. T makes an excellent eye wash to relieve eye strain and remove any irritants. its work for digestive disorder also.
